Initially viewed as a harmonious, albeit unusual, display of classical flowers and tattooed human arms, Peace and Pride changes gears when the glittering pistol, in rainbow colours, is discovered by the roaming eyes of the viewer. The story immediately transforms, as the viewer becomes cognisant of the weapon. What is the real threat though, of a glitter pistol amongst flowers? Peace and Pride is a cry for vigilance, for the LGBTQIA+ community, and for society in general. The glitter pistol, in this context, represents a threat to the peace and safety of marginalized communities. The artwork challenges viewers to examine the true nature of seemingly harmonious situations and to remain vigilant against hidden dangers.
